Slackers…

Woooo have we’ve been slacking on this blog!  So here is our update in a nutshell. I promise I’ll go into more detail later. We’re married, Brent has a pilot slot in the Navy as an Officer (Go Brent, Go Brent!), we’re moving, the house is for sale, and we are both currently on summer vacation…a.k.a. quit our jobs!  Busy, busy! I have a ton of packing to do and I’ll try to blog again before we move. Cross your fingers!

Here is a picture of us camping on South Manitou Island.  :)

Mr. and Mrs. Brent Hanson!

We’re married! We couldn’t have asked for a better wedding. The weather was beautiful, the details were finalized and guests came from near and far…very far. The ceremony was everything I hoped it would be. We cried, laughed, made memories and cherished every moment. I tear up just thinking about it!

And then there was the reception! I’m going to leave that topic for a  separate  post because there are just WAY too many things to cover. Until next time….

We’re Famous…again!

As many of you know I work for a floral and event design company in downtown Grand Rapids. I love my job and I love the people I work with even more! I can’t tell you how much I’m looking forward to showing everyone our hard work and months of planning. I wanted the ceremony and reception to reflect our personalities and Modern Day has been more than willing to make that happen. 10 days to go!

Please head over to their blog and check out the most recent post… Modern Day Floral’s Blog

Updates, updates, updates!

Hello All! I’ve been awful about blogging the past few months but I promise we’ve been super busy with wedding plans, work and parties. Yup it’s was bachelorette/bachelor party season around here! My wonderful bridesmaids hosted a great Grand Rapids dinner, games and drinks night with a TON of my friends.  Lets just say, we had a blast. The end!

Thank you bridesmaids! Love you girls!

Brent and the guys just wrapped up his Bachelor Party weekend. They grilled out, drank beer, played hockey, drank beer, golfed, drank beer, went downtown….and drank a little more. I’m sorry to report but, there are no pictures of their weekend. Well maybe not that sorry :)

I feel like I can’t say it enough these days but thank you, thank you, thank you for everything! We are truly blessed to have such wonderful friends and family!

2 Month Mark!

Here we are at the 2 month mark and I’m so excited. Dresses are in, the guys’ suits are being picked up and altered…kinda (cough cough boys!), finishing touches are being added to our menu and the invites are days away from being sent.

Brent and I really wanted something beautiful and different for our save-the-dates and invites so that’s why we went with a local wooden invitation company. After seeing the final (and if I may say so, awesome) invitations in person I knew my not-so-great handwriting would not do them justice and that’s where Jennifer came in! Jennifer is the proud owner of Graceful Expressions and she is fantastic…plain and simple! Seriously, she has been a joy to work with, even with our colds and stint of the flu she’s quick to email back, willing to meet in person and is great at what she does, not to mention her new little baby is adorable! Okay enough chatting…check out her work!

Pretty cool huh?! Just wait till you see them in person! Friendly reminder… RSVP ASAP, we all know I have the Hughes planning gene in me :)

Staying busy

I haven’t been very good about updating this but today I have a little down time so I thought I would share what’s going on in our lives. Wedding plans are coming together. I asked Brent the other night, ” So…what else do we need to do?” He just looked at me like, “How the heck should I know?!?!” Thankfully we have had a lot of help along the way from our wonderful families and friends. Speaking of wonderful family, my Aunt Sarah and Aunt Polly…Grandma Hughes too, are hosting a bridal shower for me tomorrow. I wish I could tell you more but they’ve hidden all the details from me. Take that back, they’ve hidden everything from me.  I’m excited to see what the day holds but I’m also very excited to see my downstate family…ahhh I heart family time.

In other exciting news, Brent has finished the upstairs bathroom floor! SCORE! We have been working on finishing the trim in the upstairs and the next (giant) task is installing hardwood stairs. Wish us luck and remember the door is always open if you’re interested in helping :)

Little love…

Thank you Gwyneth Page for the always fabulous posts.

xoxo
